Daiva-Varṇāśrama Journal

Article Submission Guidelines

The journal, published biannually (twice a year), discusses daiva-varṇāśrama-dharma, including its structure, its functions or expressions, and the responsibilities of its members, covering the past, present, and future.

Articles may be submitted by any member of the public and should be written according to the journal guidelines. Publication will be at the discretion of the editors.

Guidelines for article submission:

Content

Articles may describe any aspect of daiva-varṇāśrama-dharma in the past, present, or future.

We support attacks on modern materialistic society. However, authors are discouraged, not forbidden, from making predictions about society. Such future predictions often prove incorrect or inaccurate, especially when they state that collapse is imminent.

It would be more appropriate to discuss current moral, social, or environmental decay. Of course, discussions of the degradation of Kali-yuga and the appearance of Kalki are perfectly fine.

Authors should support their work by giving standard empirical or śāstric evidence in footnotes or endnotes. They may also express opinions by presenting them as opinions, not facts.

Suggested Structure

Try to avoid long paragraphs. Where possible, use modern language. Acronyms should be avoided or explained with the first use.

Please use MS Word spell checking and grammar checking to correct articles before submission.

Criticism of Vaiṣṇavas will not be published. Ad hominem attacks should not be used, meaning that Vaiṣṇavas and Vaiṣṇava groups like ISKCON should not be attacked.

Although most of the journal’s editors are affiliated with ISKCON, authors are not required to be ISKCON members.
